Easylib New Web Version 6.2A Features

Conversion from Client Server Mode to Web Mode

The following modules which were already in Easylib 4.4.2 Client Server Version are now available in web version. Deployed at server and accessible anywhere the IP access is allowed.

Dual compatible database between Client Server Version and Web Version. You can use both client server version and web version in parallel. Both applications refer and update the same database. New enhancements happen on web version.

Optional In-Out Management is now fully available in Web Mode. Work is in progress related to integrating it with fingerprint scanners.

Switch over cost and risks are minimal as database is not modified as well staff can quickly get to the speed on newer version. You also do not have to spend on major data conversion efforts.

Features in the New Web 6.2a Version

Dynamic OPAC – The newer version has a fully configurable dynamic web page builder. You can configure search bar, explore links, make announcements, link to partner libraries, get data of OPAC visitors, feature new books, publish accomplishments, library timings, and dashboard for students etc. Contains links to older version of EPAC screens also. See additional information sheet that has additional details of the Dynamic Web OPAC module alone.

Dynamic Dashboards – Ability to define one’s own KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and get to keep a watch on them continually through dynamic dashboards. Ability to manage your library as per Balanced Scorecard, Dr.S R Ranganathan Score, etc.

Integrate Digital Library with Physical Library – Newer version gives ability to link eBooks, CD, Audio, DVD, external data available on web, your institutional repository, subscriptions, journals and other material with each catalogue entry to give a holistic experience of the collections at the library to the students. Gives you digital access log and statistics.

Link with Union Catalogue – Newer version has ability to connect to union catalogue of your choice and download the contents directly onto Accession Register given an ISBN. Also gives you ability to publish your own data to Easylib Union Catalogue of your University.

SMS Interface – Ability to configure SMS and Email alerts on issue, return and renewal of material. Ability to reserve from WEB-OPAC. SMS pricing is totally dynamic and no fixed costs.

Easylib Batch – Ability to schedule various jobs e.g. Due reminders, Birthday Greetings, New Arrival Alerts, Library Notifications etc.

RFID Compatible – Ability to issue multiple books with one keystroke, multiple issue return at once, Drop box compatible for self-service return etc.

Display Board (Kiosk) Management – Helps you manage library and campus wide display boards. From the library itself you can manage what is being displayed where.

Data Quality Improvement – Tools to access your data quality. Ability to correct the data in bulk. E.g. Identify title duplicates, identity publisher duplicates with spelling mistakes, Identify creation of vendors no purchases done etc. Ability to merge title, publishers, vendors etc.

Improvements to In Out Management – Connect through biometric scanners (in progress). Get extensive reports of the visitors, profile wise visit pattern to the library, library usage etc.

More Powerful User Login – Optional SMS based authentication for library staff logon and students (in progress). Ability for students to shortlist books to read, submit purchase recommendations etc.

Additional Analytics – Analyse circulation by authors, subjects, category of books, user profile, publisher, purchase date range, price of the book etc.

Publications Management – Ability to manage student and staff publications. Dashboard of publication counts by year etc. Ability to catalogue them and make them available in search.

Branch Library management – Ability to manage multiple branches of your library. Get to know purchase and collection data. Ability for users to borrow from one branch and return at another branch if allowed. Get home branch and inter branch collection and circulation data.
